Employment history
Website Manager for Manufacturer and Retailer in UK 2010 - to date
Responsible for the day-to-day management of two large e-commerce stores, online strategy decisions and the design / configuration / development of the corporate websites.
Freelance work - miscellaneous designs 2000 - 2010
I’ve created several websites for various individuals, groups, associations and companies. Some of this work has involved designing and coding from scratch, others have been based upon refreshing old tired websites or working from templates. I’ve also designed brands, logos and offline promotional items such as posters, business cards, etc in recent years. Some of my latest work can be found on the 'Work' menu item above.
Self employed, Founder of a Dog Training School, Sweden. 2009-2010
I moved to Sweden in 2009 with my partner to pursue a business and lifestyle opportunity to start a new company. I was solely responsible for the creation and design of the brand, product, website design and development, merchandising and marketing (including SEO, poster designs, newspaper adverts, on site signage, promotional materials, photographs and imagery etc). Thanks to a fresh, clean and professional brand design, the company received almost instant success and has been continually fully booked since. I moved back to the UK late 2010.
Dog Science, 2007-2009
I created and managed a small business in the UK which operated two retail websites selling pet related items which I ran during my spare time. I was solely responsible for the design of the brand, website design and development, merchandising, photographing of all products, design of promotional materials and campaigns, plus day-to-day shopping cart customer order processing. I also designed and managed all online advertising, including SEO and Google AdWords. I sold the company as a going concern in 2009.
BT Senior Network Design Architect, 1996 - 2009
I was a senior member of a team of network professionals providing design, consultancy, configuration, installation, testing and support of the Royal Mail Group’s vast UK voice and data network (local area and wide area networks). I was personally responsible for multi-million pound customer data network projects covering design & testing, budgetary, project management, technical configuration and installation activities. Examples of my projects on the Royal Mail network include taking the lead role for two LAN Technology Refresh projects (some 50,000 LAN ports across hundreds of sites), also a full scale roll-out of ‘Voice over IP’ across a multi-site national Call Centre network of some 5,000 users.
